Jim Beard Signing Gotham City 14 Miles in Ohio and New Jersey

Gotham City 14 Miles: 14 Essays on Why the 1960s Batman TV Series MattersJim Beard, editor of and essayist for our Gotham City 14 Miles, will be appearing at two upcoming comic shows to promote the book and celebrate 45 years of the 1966-68 Batman TV series.

This first is Mid-Ohio Con, on 22-23 October, in Columbus, Ohio. The con will feature the Dynamic Duo themselves, Adam West and Burt Ward, as special guests. This will be a rare Midwest combined appearance for the famous stars.

The second is the New Jersey Comic Expo, on 12-13 November, in Teaneck, New Jersey. The con will feature a host of stars from the TV show, including Lee Meriwether, Terry Moore, Donna Loren, Susan Silo, and Deanna Lund, as well as bat-authors Joel Eisner and Jim Beard. Jim will also moderate a special Gotham City 14 Miles panel at the show.

Gotham City 14 Miles: 14 Essays on Why the 1960s Batman TV Series Matters is the ultimate critical guide to the series, with essays by Becky Beard, Jim Beard, Joseph F. Berenato, Timothy Callahan, Chuck Dixon, Robert Greenberger, Michael D. Hamersky, Michael Johnson, Paul Kupperberg, Michael S. Miller, Will Murray, Peter Sanderson, Jennifer K. Stuller, Bill Walko, and Robert G. Weiner. The book also sports and afterword by Jeff Rovin and a cover by M. Mrakota Orsman.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

In 1996, while still an undergraduate, Dr. Julian Darius founded what would become Sequart Organization. After graduating magna cum laude from Lawrence University (Appleton, Wisconsin), he obtained his M.A. in English, authoring a thesis on John Milton and utopianism. In 2002, he moved to Waikiki, teaching college while obtaining an M.A. in French (high honors) and a Ph.D. in English. In 2011, he founded Martian Lit, which publishes creative work, including his comic book Martian Comics. He currently lives in Illinois.
