Just in time for the Christmas buying season, a golf cart version of Batman’s Tumbler has been put up on eBay.
Unfortunately for holiday shoppers, the cart was purchased today, just after midnight, once word of the eBay story started making the rounds online. It had a buy-it-now price of $17,500.
The cart’s owner states in his listing that this price doesn’t cover the cost, which he states was over $30,000. It’s located in Van Nuys, California, and was apparently mostly used on studio lots.
Of course, a golf-cart version of the Tumbler, the tank-like version of the Batmobile used in Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies, is an absurd thing. Instead of something massive and imposing, the golf cart is almost… cute.
Still, there’s no denying the attention to detail. Although the scale is naturally very different for the golf cart version, even the tires are the same type used in the films. The golf cart’s got leather seats and an iPad mount, presumably in place of a Bat-computer.
Whether the buyer intends to drive this on an actual golf course is unknown, but it would certainly make an impression.
