This period includes the third and fourth Next Generation film (Insurrection and Nemesis, respectively), the final season of Deep Space Nine, and the final three seasons of Voyager.
Former Next Generation mainstay Q returned for the seventh-season Voyager episode “Q2.” While Data-associated characters, such as Lore or Dr. Noonian Soong, had not appeared since Next Generation‘s cancellation, Nemesis killed off Data and introduced a new, related android, B-4. The Borg continued to be essential on Voyager (appearing in “Drone,” “Infinite Regress,” the two-part “Dark Frontier,” “Survival Instinct,” as holograms in “Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy,” “Collective,” “Child’s Play,” the sixth-season finale / seventh-season debut “Unimatrix Zero,” “Imperfection,” as a hologram in the two-part “Flesh and Blood,” “Shattered,” “Q2,” and the two-part finale “Endgame”). The Mirror Universe appeared one final time in the Deep Space Nine episode “The Emperor’s New Cloak.”
