Originally a Conan the Barbarian spoof, Cerebus began in 1977 by Dave Sim in Kitchner, Ontario. Eventually the book transitioned into it’s own story that Sim decided would be 300 issues long. The projected final date was in 2004, where Sim did conclude Cerebus with a 300th issue.
